Why is yoga good for the heart?

Why is yoga good for the heart besides the obvious fact that your spirits are lifted after an amazing asana? We don’t often think of the heart as a muscle, and during a yoga practice we work on building muscles with the different postures such as extended side angle where you work to open the front line to the side wall. Poses such as this not only are great for flexibility but also aid in circulation and blood flow. While practicing you will lower blood pressure , cholesterol and even blood glucose level. What does all that mean? Your body will respond positively to movement with light impact and by connecting this movement with the breath , stress and anxiety will decrease and result in a higher probability of warding off heart disease.

Keep the heart happy and move the body friends.
