Discipline by Mel Maldonado

When are you most tempted? Is it when everything is going well? Or is it when you are already falling apart and just say, " Screw it" then indulge? How do we get to the breaking point? How can we avoid these vulnerable moments and stick to our dedication? Personally, I have always felt like once you have given into temptation it's so much easier to downward spiral. I'd like to share some things that I have learned through resisting temptation in the journey to live a healthy lifestyle. First and foremost go to the root of temptation. Are you struggling to stay on task because you are bored? Or is it because you are afraid of failure? Really dig to the root of what is causing the yearning. Secondly, really decide if it is worth it? Wherever you are in your journey, every moment is a new opportunity. If you feel like you are doing yourself justice to give in just a little and gain control, by all means indulge. But be sure you will be able to practice self love and don't be hard on yourself afterwards. Lastly, if you are struggling with your journey, you might need to question if you made this journey obtainable. Are you being too hard on yourself? Have you given yourself an unrealistic expectation? Be kind to yourself while you are looking to the future and where you see yourself. Discipline can be a healthy practice if you can choose to embrace and welcome the challenge and the growth that comes with it.
