A class a day keeps the grumpy away!

Do you ever look forward to a class ALL day, just wishing time would zip by so you can move & groove then sink into your mat for the sweet satisfaction of Savasana? I often hear, “I AM ADDICTED !”, and we get it, you aren’t going crazy. Yoga has an insane amount of benefits. For most, yoga benefits them mentally. Do you know why we cue the breaths during every class? I mean after all , you have gone the entire day without someone telling you when to breathe. So, why? Why on earth would we be telling you when and how to breathe? All day we take shallow breaths; we inhale and exhale back to back, but rarely take time to breathe completely. We must begin by expanding at the lungs, providing your brain with fresh oxygen, then pausing briefly before exhaling completely, depleting the stale air to make room for another beautiful inhalation. These deep breaths welcome our minds to the present and take the focus off anything that has obstructed our thoughts. This might be the first time for the entire day that you have paused at all; the breath has welcomed you into the moment. Although we are not able to be at the studio as much as we want, we always have our breath. It is available to you at any given instant, if you are willing to take the time to come back to the breath. So give it a try! When you begin to feel the craving for the flow, simply pause and breathe to send the grumpies away! Torch is always with you!
